Parent Desires

WHAT do you want for your young adult?  Success...Direction... A solid foundation.

WHY? Because the reality of an ever-changing world is present.

These are critical years of development in which your child is finally free to think on his own and act as an adult. In a society where secular reasoning, humanistic philosophies, and moral relativism have become the backbone for thought and reason, only a handful of young adults take a godly stand in their culture, a culture in which everyone else is so easily swayed from Biblical principles. We know you want your kids to be successful. We understand you want them to excel.

HOW? RAD Ministries.  Our mission is clear: to disciple young adults and direct them into a radical relationship with Jesus Christ. RAD is an educational course that puts high value on developing one’s ability to lead others, prioritize goals, and clearly discern God’s voice. The way we go about this is through team based, high-adventure learning. Each activity, be it rock-climbing, constructing a bamboo village, or designing graphics for a web page, will be tied back into the developmental process God has for each young adult personally…techniques that are designed to bring about personal growth in some of the most critical areas in a student’s life. We equip young adults with the skills, resources and power to move forward in life and pursue godly dreams and goals.

WHERE else would a young adult go to seek out who they are and where they stand?

College? 88% of teens desire a college degree (Barna).  However,    graduation rates fell to new lows in 2000 with only 41.9% of students at public colleges earning their degrees and 55.1% at private institutions (stamats.com).

Material Things? U.S. teenagers spent $172 billion dollars, in 2001. That is roughly $107.00 a week on material possessions (Teenage Research Unlimited).

World? 75% of young adults ages 18-35 embrace moral relativism. Only 4% claim to embrace evangelical Christianity.

Themselves? Barna research shows that 83% of teens believe that moral truth depends on the circumstances, and only 6% said that moral truth is absolute.
